The Beginning
It all started with beautiful traditional rituals for Vanshika, as all the immediate family members got together to begin the wedding on an auspicious note
The Welcome
As the Misras arrived at The Raffles, the Goenkas were right there to welcome them with a flower shower & some carefully curated gifts & delicacies
The Misras begin their rituals
The Misras began their rituals at The Raffles. Aneesh & Animesh arrived for their Kashi Yatra ceremony, which was accompanied by a lot of laughter & good cheer
Later that afternoon
As Vanshika started getting her mehendi applied in her room, Aneesh began his rituals where both families came together. The Misras started singing songs which poked fun at the Goenkas, and the Goenkas then responded with equal good humour. The laughter we managed to capture in the photographs is truly infectious - there was an incredible amount of fun had that afternoon
Later that evening
Vanshika had got her mehendi applied during the afternoon, it was now the turn of all the family members to get theirs done. The evening started off with a surprise dance performance after which, Aneesh tried to look for his name in Vanshika’s mehendi, and they then went off to practice their dances for the sangeet evening
Day Two - The Welcome Dinner
Now that all the guests from across the world had arrived & checked in to their rooms, it was time to kick off the celebrations. The venue for kicking off the welcome dinner was full of incredible details from the lives of the Misras & Goenkas. There was something about everything there!
Vanshika & Aneesh made a dreamy entry on the welcome dinner, coming down separate rows of stairs after which they met in the middle, then continuing to walk down together. A great metaphor for what life and a marriage is - two people, strong individuals in their own right, meet & decide to continue their future journey together.
Jonita Gandhi began singing shortly after, as everyone then filled the lawns outdoors after which Atif Aslam started weaving his magic. MC Sid also kicked off his series of personalised rap verses, which brought the house down.
The Mehendi
The next afternoon saw the lawns of the Raffles transform into a global mixing pot of food, drink, curated gifts, music & dance. Vanshika & Aneesh made their entry with a dancing troupe, as Sukhbir & Shweta Subram slowly started adding his unique Punjabi tadka to the proceedings. The dancing had begun early this day, and as we shall see, it didn’t stop till the wee hours of the night, because the sangeet followed
The Sangeet
There is simply no way to describe the sangeet, except by saying that let’s have the photographs speak for themselves. We made a few portraits for Vanshika & Aneesh at the Raffles, as they then travelled to the Ain Dubai to made a dreamy entry, as Manish Paul began compering the show. Every single performance was on point, and then the open dance floor took the party to another level, as Neha Kakkar & DJ AJ brought the magic!
The Haldi
The morning of the wedding day began with separate Haldi ceremonies for Vanshika & Aneesh. They both started off as quiet ceremonies, and soon turned into a riot of fun. While Aneesh’s concluded with a flower shower, Vanshika’s continued as her family blessed her before her transformation into a bride. It was emotional and beautiful.
The Wedding
Oh the wedding! What a beautiful, beautiful celebration. Aneesh’s Baraat started in the golden light, as Vanshika transformed into a bride. The varmala happened under the dark blue skies, after which Vanshika & Aneesh sat in a beautiful mandap. Shubha Mudgal ji brought the divine gift of her voice, and everyone went through a beautiful mix of emotions. Once the pheras concluded, the sky lit up with hundreds & hundreds of fireworks. It was an evening everyone there will always remember.
The Reception
The entire facade of the Raffles lit up with a beautiful light projection as Vanshika & Aneesh made their entry for their reception. The speeches began and there was laughter, tears, hugs & loud cheers. As everyone was absorbing all the love that was all around, Ustaad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s voice filled the air. It brought a soulful conclusion to everything that everyone had experienced across the last few days, celebrating Vanshika & Aneesh’s union.
