Shrutika & Lakshya's destination wedding at the Four Seasons Hotel, Bahrain

Shrutika & Lakshya got married in December, at the Four Seasons Bahrain Bay. Their wedding was a celebration that lasted for three days. This is a handpicked collection of the most memorable moments from their story But first, let’s take a few steps back in time and revisit the time we spent with them in Jaipur.

PS: An epic wedding teaser follows the photos, don’t miss it at the bottom of the page!

Prelude // The Jaipur Chapter

We laughed, had wine, played with dogs & flew kites. We also wrapped it up with an epic moonlight dinner at the Amer Fort

Episode One // Go Karting at the Formula One Racetrack, Bahrain

A great sense of anticipation filled everyone as we left The Four Seasons toward the Formula One racetrack in Bahrain. Once we got to the track, the boys were briefed about the race track rules & safety protocols. A quick change into their racing outfits, the boys were ready to go.

Race track positions were awarded on the basis of qualifying times. And then the boys let their karts roar freely.

Episode Two // Shrutika’s Mehendi

As Lakshya & the boys were tearing up the pace, Shrutika started getting her mehendi applied in a serene, beautiful setting overlooking the Bahrain Bay. Lakshya arrived too, after getting back to the Four Seasons. As soon as he saw Shrutika at her mehendi, he presented her with a little flower and a peck on the cheek.

A little later, Shrutika’s sister Avantika did her surprise dance for her. The evening ended with more dancing, and as it got dark, Shrutika’s friends used their phone torchlights to help her mehendi artist.

Episode Three // The Speeches

Shrutika & Lakshya decided to have their speeches as part of the welcome dinner on day one. The larger guest list was to arrive the next day, so this was just family & close friends.

It was lovely to see the collective outpouring of love and emotion that happened in this setting. There was an unreal amount of laughter in that room that night. It was probably the simplest celebration out of the entire wedding, but one with immense emotion.

Episode Four // Mama Baba

Shrutika & Lakshya were set to enter with belly dancers at their Souq lunch on day two. Before they made their entry however, both of them did a full dry run accompanied to Moe Phoenix’s ‘Mama Baba’, which Lakshya played on his phone.

These moments that Ekta and I shared with Shrutika and Lakshya everyday, before they officially started their celebrations were among our favourites from their wedding. We got to see how adorable they are when they are just with each other, and how happy they make each other. Couple goals for sure.

Episode Five // Eye Contact

As Shrutika went up to dance on stage, all by herself, her eyes met Lakshya’s. He stood up, and throughout her entire dance performance, these guys couldn’t take their eyes off each other. There were hundreds of people around them, but at that moment, it felt like the love they both shared enveloped all of us in the room.

The dance they danced together after that was magic. But of course, it first started with them practicing in the room.

Episode Six // Dance Floor Madness

The pictures speak for themselves!

Episode Seven // Same but Different

On the morning of day three, both haldi ceremonies started off with a quiet energy. As time went on, one of the haldis continued on land, and the other ended up in the water. Scroll to figure out which was which.

Episode Eight // Lakshya Takes a Moment

Just before he left for his baraat, I was intrigued with the energy I could sense in Lakshya. ‘How are you feeling?’ I asked him. And then he told me everything that was on his mind.”I’m feeling really overwhelmed. I am ready, I want to get married right now”, he said. This was such a silent, powerful moment where human emotion was at its purest, and I feel incredibly honoured that Lakshya trusted me to express his feelings.

Episode Nine // The Laughing Bride

Shrutika’s bridal suite was full of good cheer and great humour before her bridal entry.

“I think when Lakshya sees you, he is definitely going to cry”

“He better cry”

Episode Ten // The Baraat that (almost) never ended

As DJ AJ spun his magic, the evening turned into night, the boys lay in front of the vehicle to stop it from moving forward, and Lakshya had the widest smile on his face all through.

Episode Eleven // The Vows

Shrutika and Lakshya had written their own vows for each other, which they read in the mandap after their wedding ceremony. Just like the sangeet, they had eyes only for each other all through. Just when we thought they couldn’t melt our hearts any more, they did just that.

Episode Twelve // An Explosion of the Senses

An epic wedding deserves an epic after party, and that is just what happened at Shrutika & Lakshya’s. The highlight of the evening was a Money Heist themed dance, where professional acrobats in Dali masks and costumes brought the house down with their energy and stunts. Paris House Mafia (PHA) took over shortly after to give the party an epic conclusion.
